The South African Commercial Advertiser 1824-1856

South Africa's first independent newspaper, started publication on the 7th January 1824 but was not published between 5 May 1824 and 31 Aug.1825, or between 10 March 1827 and 3 Oct 1828, periods when the paper was suppressed by order of the governor at the Cape.
